Richard Beeler was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
His first formal introduction to horror was being taken to the movies or drive-in to see low-budget B-Grade horror movies such as “Sssssss” or “The Abominable Dr.
Phibes.”
Growing up, he developed a love of literary works by such authors as C.S. Lewis, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir
Arthur Conan Doyle, Ray Bradbury, J.R.R. Tolken, Stephen King, and other authors of fantasy, mystery, and horror.
Writing soon came afterwards. When he graduated High School, he took
a year off before attended college where he studied Computer Science and worked for the College Newspaper as a photographer and was active in
student activities as a member of the Student Union.
A friend of his introduced him to the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and after reading many of his stories, the desire to
write resurfaced. He began work on many ideas, summaries, and stories, but never had the time to complete these as
school and career consumed his time. Richard settled into the Information Technology field and his career
advancement demanded the bulk of his time.
Starting in 1998, Richard had many things occur that ultimately led him back to writing. Being
hospitalized for a
near fatal sinus infection, the death of his Father, and the downturn of the IT Technical field forced him to
reevaluate his life and career. Writing became an avenue for his imagination again. With encouragement from a
writer friend, Richard works toward becoming a better writer
Richard is of German-Irish-Scottish ancestry with some Cherokee mixed in. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
When not spending his time writing or driving in Atlanta’s grid-locked traffic, he enjoys spending his time with
family and friends.
